About the Memorial Fund

George R. Foster lived his life for the sake of the Great Commission. This was evidenced through 25 years of service in Brazil, together with nearly 30 years of service around the world through the Home Office - as a teacher, preacher, author, pastor, mission leader, and International Pastor to missionaries. His time as Field Leader in Brazil set the stage for a generation of impact for Bethany throughout the nation and into the region and beyond.

Less than two weeks before he passed, George told the Director of Bethany Gateways that he felt like he had more to contribute to the mission for the sake of the Gospel and wanted to volunteer his time. He completed one editing assignment and then the Lord took him home just a few days later. His desire to continue to contribute to the mission and its purposes can be carried out through gifts to the George R. Foster Memorial Fund.

Bethany Gateways (formerly Bethany Fellowship Missions) is entering a stage of significant growth and is on track to at least double in size in the next five years. Bethany workers are currently engaging 75 unreached people groups, with the aim of making disciples and planting churches among these people with little to no access to the Gospel. Two keys to sustained effectiveness on the field is the development of leaders and the care of the missionaries - two areas that were close to George’s heart, and evidenced throughout his year of ministry.

Gifts to the George R. Foster Memorial Fund will be used to extend Bethany Gateways’ purpose of taking the Church to Where it is not, with a focus on activities that will ensure the next generation of leaders and missionaries are developed well and effectively cared for throughout their service.

His legacy can impact the next generation taking the Gospel to those without Jesus.

George R. Foster viveu sua vida em nome da Grande Comissão. Bethany Gateways (antiga Bethany Fellowship Missions) está entrando em uma fase de crescimento significativo e está no caminho certo para pelo menos dobrar de tamanho nos próximos cinco anos. Os presentes ao Fundo George R. Foster Memorial serão usados para estender o propósito de Bethany Gateways de levar a Igreja para onde ela não está, com foco em atividades que assegurarão que a próxima geração de líderes e missionários se desenvolvam bem e sejam efetivamente cuidados durante todo o seu serviço.
